Paul McCartney Wants His Music Back!

Filing a lawsuit against Sony/ATV, Paul McCartney is looking to bring back his catalog of music to its rightful home.

Previously owned by the late Michael Jackson, rights to the music were taken over by Sony/ATV in 2006. McCarthy’s argument comes down to the factor of time. It is uncertain how the ruling will follow, but if all goes well, he will be able to claim back the rights as early as October 2018.

Sony/ATV holds McCartney in “high regard.”
“We have worked extensively with McCartney over the years, to protect his music legacy. We do this with great care, while having the long-term in mind,” a spokesperson from the company shared, going on to say that they “let down” by the lawsuit, which they deemed “needless and a bit impulsive.”
