Recently, comedian Aziz Ansari performed a monologue on “SNL” comparing controversial singer Chris Brown to Donald Trump.
The comedian’s joked about how “[he’s] sure there’s a lot of people that voted for Trump the same way a lot of people listen to the music of Chris Brown. It’s like, “Hey man, I’m just here for the tunes. I don’t know about that other stuff. I just like the dancing and the music. I don’t condone the extracurriculars.”
Ansari goes on to call Donald Trump the Chris Brown of politics.
Not exactly happy about being compared with Trump, who is known for his racist rhetoric- Brown took to Instagram to respond in turn with a racist comment of his own where he refers Ansari as “Aladdin”.
Too bad the singer’s got all his facts wrong in his problematic remark. The fictional Aladdin is a Middle Eastern character, while Ansari is Indian-American. Not only was Brown inaccurate, but fans and social media users condemned the singer’s racism.
Brown didn’t let the backlash from the public get to him as he continued to get back at Ansari via Instagram post again. Ansari has yet to react to Brown’s own. We’ll see how the comedian will handle the situation, if he does so publicly.
